“HoMM III: The Board Game” Cove

There are fewer than 2 weeks until the start of the campaign, and we have already reached over 33,000 followers. Thank you for all your support; we really appreciate it. Not long ago, we revealed some details about the Conflux expansion, and now we are ready to show you some more: the Cove. This town is mainly related to pirates and sea creatures, so it’s the perfect time to add Sea tiles to the board game.

Upcoming Mechanics

It’s time to take a closer look at what we can expect from the Cove expansion for Heroes of Might & Magic: The Board Game. Let’s start with Cove Town. This one is unique because some of you may not recognize it from the original game.

The next element is a new type of tile related to the Sea. While rotating these new tiles, you can now create small isles, but you need to choose carefully how you move over them. When you enter a sea location from land, you cannot move to another location until your next turn, so you have to plan your movement carefully to avoid losing too many movement points. You can also find a Whirlpool, which can take you to another place, but usually, you won’t know where. Traveling using a Whirlpool is dangerous, so you might lose something.

Components

In the Cove expansion, you can expect 10 new miniatures related to the Cove faction: 1 Town, 2 Heroes, and 7 units. There are over 50 new cards and 12 new map tiles, most of which are related to sea locations, along with some special tokens. Among the new cards, you will find amazing new spells, artifacts, and specialties that will enhance your gameplay. We can’t forget about the Cove mission book, complete with awesome scenarios that utilize the new mechanisms and a brand new campaign. Just like in the Stronghold expansion, you will also find a unit leaflet with statistics for all units within this expansion.

Cove Campaign for Solo

This campaign gives you a series of scenarios where your heroes will need to sail between islands to find treasures, and artifacts, all to build the strongest fleet known on this part of the sea. It tells the story of two brothers who embark on a journey driven by the deepest desires of any pirate—riches beyond measure, the glory of renown, and the warmth of enchanting company. And perhaps a mug of rum to sweeten their adventures as well. But their thirst for greatness pulls them into the midst of a battle for an ancient and legendary artifact—the Horn of the Abyss. Fate smiles upon those who dare to challenge life with all they've got... but her favor is fickle. Trusting in it too much could lead to one's downfall...
