Let’s be honest—peace was never really an option. The age of exploration has passed, diplomacy has crumbled, and to expand our empire further, it’s time to conquer the systems of other players. Let’s dive into the intricate art of warfare. Battles await!
Attack!
To realize their ambitions of galactic domination, a player must seize control of a system—or perhaps a few. Units can perform an attack action to target any system within their range, determined by each unit’s speed. With strategic positioning, players can even launch attacks from multiple systems simultaneously! How can you defend against such a threat? As the old saying goes, the best defense is a strong offense—perhaps it’s time to strike the enemy before they strike you.
Soldier Side
When combat begins, each player rolls a number of dice equal to the total firepower of ships that are participating on their side. They then use those dice results to activate combat effects, dealing damage and assigning it to opposing forces. These steps happen simultaneously, making combat quick and fluid. The process repeats until one side is either destroyed or retreats.
Every empire has a basic combat effect, but investing in advanced technologies offers more powerful options. Improved shields, armor, and weapons can turn the tide and ensure your empire’s supremacy in the heat of battle.
Bring your Own Bombs
Victory in space doesn’t grant full control of the system—there’s still a planet to conquer. To take over, the player must launch an invasion. Invasions operate similarly to space combat: assess your fleet’s firepower, roll the corresponding number of dice, and apply invasion effects to reduce the system’s population or inflict other strategic damage. Once the last population from a planet is removed, you can immediately settle your own people on the planet, securing it as part of your empire.
As with combat, each empire has a basic invasion modifier, but developing advanced technologies unlocks even stronger options for planetside dominance.
