Greetings, Adventurers!
The below text is available in three languages.
We know that some of you have been waiting on more details for the Inferno expansion, and we’re here to deliver! Please read on to see exactly what you can expect with this faction.
Inferno Joins the Battle!
The Inferno faction represents the forces of darkness and fire. These units are fearsome and relentless, embodying destruction and chaos on the battlefield. They possess powerful offensive capabilities and excel at punishing their enemies with devastating attacks. From lowly Imps to mighty Pit Lords who command infernal Demons, the Inferno faction offers a diverse roster of units. Additionally, Inferno units often possess special abilities, such as teleportation or fire immunity, that give them an edge in combat. With their fiery nature and aggressive playstyle, the Inferno units in Heroes of Might & Magic III: The Board Game are a formidable force that can bring about infernal domination in the land of Enroth. Prepare to unleash the flames of destruction and watch your enemies crumble before the might of the Inferno.
Empowered Statistic cards
First off, we’re introducing an entirely new deck, where you can obtain Empowered Statistic Cards. They function similarly to their regular counterpart, but with one key difference. Each empowered card comes with a single Expert effect that can be used without expending any expert points.
To obtain an Empowered Statistic card, you can visit a Star Axis (indicated by icons in the bottom left corner of the game tile), draw them from event cards, or acquire them via special artifact cards.
Random Town
Now let’s jump to the Random Town, a unique location that adds an exciting element to the game. Once it appears on the map, every player gets the opportunity to roll 2 dies. The player who achieves the highest total of resources on their dice gains the privilege of selecting a faction (excluding those already in the game) to defend this particular field. This chosen faction will have its units stationed at the Random Town.
When a Hero ventures onto the field occupied by a Random Town, they engage in thrilling siege combat against the defending units. This interaction adds a layer of strategic gameplay and adds to the overall excitement of the game.
Pit Lords and the Summon Action
Let us introduce you to a new action: “Summon.” This action allows you to add a unit to the Combat board during Combat. If a unit performs the Summon action, then place the summoned unit adjacent to this unit. If the summoned unit's Initiative is lower than or equal to the unit which is performing the Summon Action, they are able to be activated. Otherwise, treat them as already Activated in this Combat round. After a Combat Summon, the units are added to your unit deck unless stated otherwise.
That’s all for today folks, if you have any gameplay related questions you can leave them on our Board Game Geek Page.
