We keep repeating that we want "Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Board Game" to not only reflect the spirit of the original video game but also to be a great board game by itself. This is the main reason why we’re playtesting the game (as well as any expansions like the Inferno town) so much.
The whole month of February was dedicated to just testing. We established contact with various testing groups and board game clubs that conducted closed tests for us. Of course, we haven't forgotten about our backers and people who expressed their desire to have a look at the prototypes. With the help of various board game clubs, we organized open tests. Our prototypes were sent to various places in Poland, here’s a list of all the places where we organized playtests:

We are pleased to announce that we are also organizing tests abroad. On March 12th, 2023, you’ll be able to check out the prototypes at Würfel & Zucker in Hamburg, Germany.
On March 19th, 2023, we invite you all to join us at the Młociny Mall in Warsaw! Together with Fani Gier, we will conduct one of the last open tests there!
There are also plans for tests in Ireland. Of course, we will provide details on these tests as soon as possible.

The voice of the testers…

The tests that we organized during Winter brought the same interest and enthusiasm as the ones we organized in the Summer. (UKGE in Birmingham, Pyrkon in Poznań, Planszówki in Spodek in Katowice, Spiel in Essen). Virtually all players agree on one thing - our board game emulates many mechanisms from the original video game very well. "You can feel the atmosphere of Heroes," "See... Medusa is turning enemies to stone" are just examples of things we heard during our open playtests.
The reception of the game is very positive for both beginners and intermediate players. "Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Board Game" is appreciated for its variety and the various ways in which you can modify the gameplay. If you're looking for replayability, you won't be disappointed.

…matters

Based on the tests we carried out, we implemented numerous changes to unit and spell cards, including a way to mark the amount of expert level effects used this turn.. We pay great attention to balance, whether it be the stats and abilities of units, or the effects of ability cards.. We cleared up the rulebook to make it more understandable and minimize the risk of misinterpretation. We consider each card on the whole, checking for how they interact with other effects. Currently, we have focused our efforts on testing the Inferno faction, which we are creating according to your suggestions and requests.

Collaboration with the fandom

We are glad that the positive opinion about "Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Board Game" is also shared by lore experts involved in the project. In Poznań, we had the pleasure of collaborating with Dark Dragon from Acid Cave, and in Kraków, Hellburn from Behemoth Lair. At this point, we want to share information about the subpage of our game in the Lair and thank the authors for this grassroots initiative.

We also keep in touch with the people behind Heroes Orchestra and discuss ideas for joint initiatives.
