Formians resemble giant ants with humanoid upper bodies, sharing a telepathic link with the other members of their hive. Within a hive are castes specialized to particular tasks, with warriors and workers are part of the lower castes. Formians are most common on Castrovel and for millenia they sought to eradicate the lashunta, their ancient foes, but their queens now focus on industrializing their traditional hive societies.
